Hi, I'm having some problems when I'm recording guitar. I am somewhat of a newbie in all aspects and only do this for fun. Something that isn't as fun though is my results from recording guitar. I'm trying to get into VST's and I'm currently testing out LePou's stuff and got a chance to try out EzMix 2.

Here's my beef: I get awesome results when using other peoples DI files. But when I record tracks of my own it sounds like crap. I get that playstyle, gear and all that affect the tone. But this is not an issue of not finding the perfect tone. The difference is so drastic it's like the programs are working in a totally different way, a crappier way when simulating the sound on my tracks. The sound is very grainy/noisy, flat and lackluster. Almost as if something were broken. And as soon as I switch it out with some other DI it sounds awesome just like that.

I don't know what to do or what might be causing this. I hope it's not the guitar in any. It's the best sounding guitar I've ever owned, and when I think about it - can the guitar itself even make this much of a difference? Anyways, if anyone could help out in anyway I'd be extremely grateful.

Could be a couple things, but without any sound example it is hard to get even started.
What DAW are you using?
Best thing to do is to give us a short sample of your DI tracks that you record.
It could be the guitar (pickups, sampling rate you recording with etc....)
You will get more helpful replies when you post a sample of your DI guitar recording.
