This is off their latest opus 'Among Beggars and Thieves' and I really like it. I seem to remember it getting very lukewarm reviews but as far as I'm concerned Mathias Blad is one of those vocalists who can do no wrong.

God's Equation - Pagan's Mind

Ever since I saw them with Sonata last April, I've been looking for this album. Love it, but I do have to be in the mood to listen to it. At the moment, it's all about the Tyr and Ensiferum. I can't get enough of Heri Joensen's voice.

Crimfall - Where Waning Winds Lead


With all of it's symphonic epicness and distinctive sound this new band (started 2007) gives new dimensions to the beauty and the beast concept in vocals. The band is fronted by two great vocalists: Mikko Häkkinen (Thyestean Feast, Draugnim, Twilight Ophera) and
Helena Haaparanta (Tacere, Dewian) and the only other permanent member is Jakke Viitala who's brainchild the whole band is.

Janne Jukarainen - Drums (Naildown, Hanging Garden)

Oh, did I mention that Crimfall is actually symphonic-progressive power-viking-folk metal with a touch of black. Then again they're purely nothing of those but the distinct and awesome themselves.

What the heck, go find out yourself because Crimfall's debut CD "As The Path Unfolds..." must be one of the most impressive debuts I've heard for a few years.
