NP- A album covered in dust

I still don't particularly care for Cowboys From Hell and never really have, but The Great Southern Trendkill just keeps getting better as the years go by.

We stand on opposite cliffs for this. What little appeal The Great Southern Trendkill had for me wore off years ago. CFH, however, is my favorite Pantera album hands down

I think that was the first time I've publicly said something negative about CFH in my 22 years as a Pantera fan, so I should probably backtrack a little and state that it is still a 7/10 album for me... I just always preferred their next three albums by quite a bit. Far Beyond Driven spoke to me like few albums ever have, it was a particularly good time for an emotional teenager to hear such a thing.

Although I remember studying for the AP Art History exam in high school the day (or week, whatever) that Trendkill was released thinking it sucked, but it definitely grew on me, and has been my Go To Pantera Album for many years now. Surprisingly dirty and sweaty sounding for such a slickly produced work. The outro solos for the title track and Floods still fucking slay me.

It has been quite some time since I've spun this one.

And, it remains quite the moving, unique experience.

yeah this was well worthy of all the hype back in the day

for me it probably stands up better today than the early drudkh stuff
