Nuendo Issues once again

Can't hear the vst's in realtime using the inserts when recording vocals, guitar e.t.c, works for vst instruments though and yes the monitoring button is engaged. Any suggestions? something simple that ive missed, i hope.

Do you have Direct Monitoring on?

Disable it. Direct monitoring option let you monitor the input (the incoming signal), not the -real-time processed- output (I'm not talking about the monitoring button for individual tracks here).
