Even though I dig both bands, I just don't see the Megadeth and Dream Theater crowds hanging together.

I could see this lineup as a possibility with the attempt of getting various different fans of different Metal genres/high profile acts under the same roof and try and play at larger venues (arenas, outdoor pavilions). Most of those bands alone end up playing larger clubs if I am not mistaken, even Megadeth. Get them all together and they can book larger places and play to more people. Kinda makes sense.

Sorry...I missed the boat when it comes to King Diamond and the rest of the bands you listed. I just can't get into Diamond's screechy vocals is all. Dream Theater is the most overindulgent band ever. There comes a point when they are just trying to hard to be technical and it just comes off as wankery. Don't get me wrong I love good musicianship as much as you do but there just is no excuse for Dream Theater

According to Mustaine the shows main bands will be West Coast - East Coast. That's what he said in his latest update on the Megadeth site. West Coast being Megadeth and East Coast being ???????????
