He payed the bail bondsman $2,500, which is 10%. That person puts up the $25,000, and if he shows up for trial, they get their $25,000 back. If he no-shows, they lose it all. At leats that is how I always understood it.Steve M said:

They can use whatever force they want/need to bring him back to the jurisdiction where he was charged and get back their money. Only problem is, alot of the times these bail bondsman are scam artists. What a fucking asshole. I'm glad you folks hate cruelty to animals as much as I do. Did you see the thing on Sky news? Some guys doing fox hunting and tearing some fox apart with a pack of beagels (sp?) (beagles).
