I've always loved this band. I don't really know why either, but I just like them a lot. Me thinks it's because the songs are so catchy and they are the personification of rock n' roll. I'm not tr00, nor grim. :)

May the flaming comense. :p

no need for any flaming at all, man! I loved them too before I finally "returned" to metal :) I still listen to them. not regularly, but more often than only once in a blue moon ;)

and songs like "D'you know what I mean" are mighty, no doubt. that wall of sound is awsome :headbang:

and: their b-sides are often better than the regular songs on the albums *m-hm*

I have ALWAYS fucking hated Oasis, but that doesn't mean that you aren't unr00ly, Furious B.

EDIT: Actually now that I think of it, some of their stuff was okay, pretty catchy. I can't stand that leader guy though, Noel Gallager or whatever his name is. What a putz.

whats the story morning glory was the first album i ever bought.
thus Oasis were my first love til they brought out be here now and i went off them totally

the verve and the charalatsn were always better but defintely maybe can still beat the shit out of the likes the vines hives and strokes

Right, "The Masterplan" is by far the best Oasis album imo, you can listen to that album over and over again. Definately maybe is one great album too, but i think after Be Here now, which is still good, they started to lack a bit of ideas and lost their catchiness i think, jost not rocking that good anymore, just my opinion :)

I feel the same exact same way. I love "Be Here Now" and everything prior, but when I bought "Standing On The Shoulders Of Giants," I was somewhat disappointed. I have yet to hear "Heathen Chemestry."

my fave tracks on BHN are: D'You Know What I Mean (argh! that song deserves an award! :D ), My Big Mouth, Be Here Now, It's Getting Better Now. the rest of the album never really made it to my ear :( ;)

but both earlier albums are great throughout!

the 2 albums after Be Here Now I havn't bought, only one single "Go Let It Out" , which contains "Let's all make believe" - a good "b-side" song again .... ;)

hehe, I still remember when I went all crazy for this "(What's The Story) Morning Glory - complete singles collection" back then =) "mad for it!", to speak with a certain person's words ;)

hey, guys what's in your oasis-collection? :)

Definitely Maybe
(What's The Story) Morning Glory?
Be Here Now
The Masterplan

I had Standing On The Shoulders Of Giants, but I think I sold it because I didn't like it that much. :erk:

Three best Oasis Cds which I still play often are:
-morning glory
-definitely maybe
-masterplan

Worth having but not as good are:
-be here now
-shoulders of giants

Disappointing effort:
-heathen chemistry (newest CD)

Love that feedback drenched sound on 1st two albums. :)

I've loved this band since they first began in the early 90's. Still to this very day I spin them quite a bit. Unfortunately the last two albums have been really disapointing, and they've totally lost their once unique sound. Still one of the best British rock bands in my opinion.

OASIS is not a band.....

is monetary gain.....

not music...

What's The Story Morning Glory was definitly the album that got me into indie music in the first place.
It's brilliant, all the songs are so diverse. I've heard some of their newer work and I think it lacks that variety a little.
