The classic Petra line-up from the Beat the System era is re-forming: Bob Hartman, Greg X. Volz, Mark Kelly, John Lawry and Louie Weaver...they are going to be re-recording some old albums, as well as new material, and, most importantly, launching a worldwide tour.

How is this relevant to Theocracy? I think it would be awesome if Matt and the boys could open up for Petra on the tour stops that are anywhere near Georgia (including the ones in Florida)...as a long-time Petra fan, I feel that Theocracy embodies many of the traits that made Petra the awesome band that it was - straightforwardly Biblical lyrics, a good blend of crunchy guitars, keyboards, tight harmonies, etc. I think that many Petra fans would be very open to embracing Theocracy as new band with a similar vision.

Plus, the thought of a combined Theocracy/Petra show just makes me wanna weep for joy.

Opening up for someone is a privilege not something we can just jump on at will. Just keep that in mind. I do agree though, it would be awesome!

It would rock though! :headbang: I heard Disciple would tour with them also... It would be and awesome show! :headbang::headbang:

Oh and Val please look at this

For booking opportunities, please call Greg Carnes Productions at: 210-858-5904

It's for booking opportunities and if you know any local areas maybe you can open for them there.

Val, I understand completely...I just wanted to toss the idea out there, so if you guys were interested, perhaps there would be something you or Ulterium could do to get on board. I do not know, nor do I pretend to know 'the biz' and all the strings that need to be pulled and wheels greased to make things like this happen.

I do think you'd be able to make a number of new fans among all the Petheads out there...you guys have made a fan of me.

It would be cool, but realistically? I don't see that happening. Petra is going to want to get someone with a similar style, and Theocracy seems too heavy for that. Like Michael Sweet's son's band opening for Stryper, there were complaints all across the boards. If anything they would dust off some other band, get a worship band or a comedian to open for them.

Over the years, Petra has had lots of bands open for them, and they were often quite different stylistically...from Dakoda Motor Co. to One Bad Pig. Some of Petra's Volz-era-pre-Beat-the-System songs were quite heavy (Judas Kiss, Bema Seat, Blinded Eyes, Pied Piper). Then there's Jekyll and Hyde, which is an all-barrels-blazing hard rocker. I don't think Theocracy clashes at all stylistically with Petra.

Of course, this is all complete speculation and all wishful thinking on my part...but one is allowed to dream, right?

I think that a lot of older petra would be good with Theocracy... and that's what this tour is. :D

...."Mike" Sweet is his son I presume, why does he look like a skinny girl? So the children of heavy metallers from ages past turn to emo?
"So come on baby tell me what you're thinkinnnng"

LOL. That's what guys try to look like nowadays. I went to a party recently (my friend's after graduation party for his co-op) and most of the guys looked malnourished. 90% of them were older then me but most of them looked like little girls. Most were like REALLY skinny and short and they had that hair that looks like they gell it to their face, then forward.

Well, the black-and-yellow spandex made it clear that they were men, men in tights, tight tights.
