Off-topic: "National Treasure"

if you find that kind of stuff interesting you need to read Angels and Demons, and The DaVinci Code by Dan Brown

Don't know Angels and Demons, but as for Da Vinci Code and Illuminati, please don't read them, they're just stupid and not realistic. Even the scientific "facts" are not real and so both books became more and more uninteresting while reading. These were the first two books that I didn't finish.

im on Angels & Demons now, and im really liking it. Most*** (or some) of the stuff in those books is true. as for national treasure, i highly doubt i'll see it. the previews made it look soooooooooooooooooooooooooooo stupid. but that was also the case for some other movies that i ended up liking, so we'll see.

While I have neither seen the movies/read the books, nor read the refutations, I have heard that there are some well-researched books out there that give premises like The DaVinci Code and National Treasure a pretty sound thrashing, and that kinda kills my interest in conspiracy stuff like that.

"the dollar bill is trying to tell me something". what is that story behind the U.S 1$ bill with the pyramid and the eye on top of it if any one knows?

actually ... if you look on the US $1 bill, under the pyramid, it says "Novus Ordo Seclorum" meaning "New Secular Order", then look write over where it says "ONE" in the middle. above that it says "In God We Trust" ... new secular order ... in god we trust ... KINDA contradicts itself. (that's from Angels & Demons. its right on the US $1 bill, i'm looking at it right now.) the eye atop the pyramid the symbol of the masonic brotherhood. or something like that. it fits in with the story really well. as for national treasure, it doesnt really appeal to me that much. i'd rather see the Spongebob Squarepants movie...

...not really, but there are other movies im lookin forward to see (meet the fockers, alexander, and prolly other ones), and the next Ayreon rerelease comes out in january i think

Hold on...I may be way out of the loop here, but where's the proof that Ayreon's going to have another album released next year--unless you're talking about another in the reissue series (looks like Actual Fantasy, according to Ayreon.com)?

I know alot about that Illuminati stuff if you are actually curious. Basically it is a satanic plot for a one-world government. Supposibly the masonic lodge has carried this secret plot out and planned to put it in action after the 3rd world war which is supposed to involve the middle east, according to a prediction/prophecy made by someone during the 1rst world war. Creepy thing is that guy's prediction about WW2 was right so who knows. So far their have been 3 attempts to put it into action. The Reign of terror after the french revolution, WW1, Communist throwing the Czar out followed by WW2.
If you want to know more about it I could Pm you some URL's on it.

BTW, If anyone starts writing a concept album on this your'e dead, I have dibs on it!!!

Well.. although National Treasure - storyline wise - looks pretty crap judging by the previews, I'm going to see it for one reason and one reason alone.

SEAN BEAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Some here know just how much I love this guy, and those who havent realised it yet, stick around, I'm sure I'll be talking about him more in the future (ie after I've seen this movie)

Dude's a great actor. I first saw him in Sharpe's Rifles. Great show. "Still Sharpe." ;)

My bad, tried to read a bit too fast!

I didn't think this movie would be worth a damn, but it was actually pretty good, even considering the obvious suspensions of reality and logic. The plot was unrealistic, but done in a way that kept it at a consistent pace anyway.

Plus, it had Nicholas Cage, who is da MAN! as far as action movies.

Oh, one more thing...almost forgot, what was it, oh yeah...

DIANE KRUGER!!!!!!

So hot. So, so, hot. And in this movie, she actually was something more than a sex object for Orlando Bloom or Josh Hartnett. She was an important character that uses brain cells. Go figure.

*drools at the memory*

The movie had an awful lot of guns and some underlying innuendo for a Disney flick.

No, she was a sex object for Nick Cage instead. I found her to be as much of a twit in this as always. The only difference is this time she was ACTIVELY annoying by hindering their success in discovering the treasure, rather than PASSIVELY annoying by letting a nation be destroyed over her as seen in Troy.

Now Sean Bean was a god as he always is..if only I was 10-15yrs older :( I found him to be the most redeeming quality of the whole thing. In all it wasnt a bad movie really, but not great.

Has anyone else seen this movie? I found it to be awesome, and intriguing. From what I could tell, a lot of it was historically accurate. What do you think?

I thought the movie was ok but I found some parts boring. That actress in it though was definately fine.
