Welcome to the 'Official Electronic Music Topic', this is the place to discuss Electronic Music with other fans. Discussion can vary to many genres of Electronic music like; italo disco, techno, house, trance, electro, breakbeat, jungle, drum and bass, Gabber and styles that are intended more as experimental styles or for home listening such as IDM, glitch, Breakcore, trip-hop and more.

Remember; no spam and chat nicely amongst each other.

I would suggest you get some Daft Punk which is more Funky House than Techno.

Daft Punk:

Harder, Better, Faster, stronger.
Aerodynamic
Daftendirekt
Human After All
Robot Rock

These are all generally good party tracks.

If you want some you can try some Vitalic. Vitalic, like Daft Punk is French and is more Electro-House but he's quite good.

Vitalic:

Dance Like a Machine
Le Rock
Repair Machines

Or you can try Infected Mushroom. They are a mix of of Psytrance and all sorts.

Infected Mushroom:

Streched
I'm the Supervisor
Frog Machine

Well, I hope you try them out and enjoy them even if your not into that music.

Daft Punk Is decent, not a bad listen.

Now Infected MUshroom are one of my favorite artists. You dont even have there best songs listed!!!! anyways, they are deffinately one of my favorites, and atm I know 3 of there albums ( I know, pathetic)

Other than that, I enjoy lots of Electronic. SOme would be very debatable, but ill list them anyways

Justice
Slick Idiot
Venetian Snares
Skazi
Skream
Pendulum
Bjork
Astral Projection
Zoolog
Depeche Mode( more Electronica )

yeah....

I'm on something of an Electronic binge right now myself.

In addition to the more popular stuff I like that most have heard of (Prodigy, Crystal Method, Chemical Bros, etc) I've also come to enjoy the following over the past couple weeks...

-Astral Projection
-Future Sound of London
-Propellerheads
-Shpongle
-Tangerine Dream

The bands in the first post are some of the worst examples of electronic music imo.
Decent idea to unite the electronic genres into one thread though, there aren't enough fans of the individual subgenres to sustain discussion for more than a few posts.

Skream fucking rules.

I need some more IDM style stuff.

I really love Burial, Untrue is a great record.

Some IDM recommendations:

Boards of Canada
Tycho
Proem
Kettel
Ochre
Freescha
Cylob
Saturday Index
Frequent C
Loafeye
Milieu
Wisp

Daft Punk is kind of interesting. I thought the first 1/3 or so of Discovery was really fucking cool, and catchy in a way I'd never really heard before, but most of the album is pretty boring, and Homework seemed to me to be entirely boring. I think if they got it right they could come out with something truly memorable.

I'm still very new to electronica, but there's one group I discovered recently that doesn't seem much discussed, and which everyone should definitely hear: Holy Fuck. They're basically a jam band with two drummers and a lot of weird-ass '80s gadgets that give the music a kind of arcade game like tone. And they are fucking incredible. I've only heard the album LP in its entirety, but I really want to get the s/t. Truly unique and ass-kicking music.

They just sound like a poor man's Cylob to me.

It just seems that anything associated with Warp Records gets this massive jizz parade in their honour, when half of if it is already being done far better by several other bands. I'm not saying Warp Records are bad, hell they released some fantastic stuff, but they and any associated bands have achieved this ridiculous untouchable status and it pisses me off.

I wouldn't really consider Holy Fuck electronica, it's just alternative rock/pop with bleeps. It's kinda like calling Idiot Pilot or Of Montreal electronica.

Fair enough. They still fucking rule, though. If you could recommend any artists like them I'd very much be interested. I've never heard anything remotely like them before.
