Well, the dust has finally settled after a stellar Powerfest weekend and we’ve
regained our wits enough to put together our official public thank you before
we get wrapped up working on 2009! :)

To all the bands on the bill this year, thanks for delivering the goods and for
being really cool to work with, it really makes all the difference in the world to
us!

To our small, yet incredible crew; John Barr, Chris Buckley, Brian Gordon, Kurt
Fujio, Sean Jennings, Rick & Annie Miner, Laura Naples and Ralf Walter, you guys
are truly a blessing, we could not have done it without you!

To Frank, RJ, Mike, Joe, Tony, Linda, Tom (the cook) and the entire Pearl Room
staff, thanks for everything, you guys are great!

To the Girls of Metal for handling the merch duties all weekend and also Aaron
Broderick and Michelle Smith for setting everything up on Sat., you guys are
absolutely amazing, thanks so much for taming the masses and keeping
everything in order!! Haha

To Jorry and Premier Partners for continuing to deal with our unbelievable
hotel issues, geez!!!!!

All our photo/press friends and supporters, Norm Glomski (official photog),
Jessi Virtusio (Southtown Star), Jeff Pizek (The Herald), Trevor Fisher & John
Vernon (Illinois Entertainer), Karma Omawale & Erika Kristen (Fourteen G), Jodi
Michael (Metal Maniacs) and also the others covering the show in some form,
we appreciate everything!

To Sacred Dawn for stepping up at the very last minute to fill the void left by
The Autumn Offering’s last minute cancellation and Chaoswave’s entry issues,
you guys kicked ass!

To Zane & Heather of CD Inzane for stepping up at the last minute and
scrambling to fill our last minute vendor void, welcome to the family! Also to
Lance King/Nightmare Records for returning once again to be a part of the
madness!

To all our VIPs & sponsors, thanks for helping to make this year possible and
for showing us that there are others just as passionate as we are about doing
something to keep the metal scene alive. Without your help and support,
there probably would not have been a Powerfest 2008!

Lastly and most importantly, to all the wonderful metal fans and friends of
Chicago, around the US, and even internationally, THANK YOU from the
bottom of our hearts for helping us firmly stamp CHICAGO POWERFEST on the
map of the metal world, we truly appreciate your support!! With close to
4000 people in attendance over 3 days, the weekend was everything we
hoped it could be and really look forward to continue building Chicago
Powerfest into one of the most prominent festivals in the US!

All the best, see ya in ’09 or somewhere around town!

P.S. It’s time to turn this forum loose and separate ourselves from it…..we
will be turning over moderation duties to a couple people (yet to be named)
very soon and will only be available as needed. Additionally, while we most
certainly welcome all comments/suggestions regarding the festival, there will
be a set of rules posted at that time regarding how to NOT be an asshole, so
please stay tuned and thanks for playing…. :)

Thanks to YOU guys once again for putting on yet another fantastic festival. I honestly can't express my appreciation enough. I feel blessed to be a part of it and will continue to do so as long as the means allow. Keep up the great work and I'll look forward to 2009!

I am guessing that you guys will mod again when 09 draws near? Or at least chill here?

We're not going away...we'll still hang out. We're just detaching ourselves regarding the conduct around here. Basically, letting other people, who don't have such a strong personal/sensitive attachment with the fest as we do, monitor & decide what's acceptable & what's not.

Well, there goes all my Nitrous Foxide fun... :(
