I dunno if it was in a movie or something, but our producer Glenn had a black bass player in his band in the mid 90s. A woman asked him "what's it like having a black bassist in the band?" and he gave that response.
After the first few seconds, "Rise Above" immediately came to mind. Your sound is a perfect fit for that label and its roster!
I'm a sucker for 'old school' production such as this.....I love the raw sound of the 70s and this nails it! I'd take this "not quite final mix" over any of the Andy Sneap sterile sounding albums of today.
I hear a tad of Pentagram in this.....and I love the soloing. Total 70s!!!!!

The final mix will remove some of the doubled vocals (recorded multiple tracks to be sure we had a good one), and some flat singing will be re-dubbed - especially chorus in Another Day. Mostly it's all pretty solid though. Songs can be accessed here:

Well, I gotta say it's one of the rare bands I ever heard that both musically and production wise come VERY close to the "70's" sound, and still sound original. I hope you guys can find a good label, as Soundmaster said, Rise Above. There also is Transubstans, a label that specialises in this stuff.
I love the guitar work on Monolith.
Your vocals on Ground are awesome, still think you'r fooling us with an obscure 70's vinyl , hahaha...
All songs sound a bit doomy, as alot of the "original" old stuff sounds like.
Another Day even reminds me a bit of Witchfinder General, a band that also had strong 70's roots in their music.
Keep us updated when the album is finished and available !

I was hoping for J to give a more solid site for the links on that thread, but I think I will work with the material at hand for now.
Thanks Gert, and everyone. We are doing a final mix day in July. Then we'll be shopping it around a bit, but I'm not holding my breath. Rise Above is at the top of the list. Thanks for the heads up on Transubstans. If nothing else, we'll print it up ourselves. We'll see.
Wyv, we'll definitely be concentrating on a real website after we've finished completely. For now we just have a half-ass Facebook page.
Listening to "Monolith" as I type this. Eerie vibe present in the long intro....diggin' it! The outro - soloing and riffing that closes the song kicks some ass!
another label possibility is Tee Pee Records (their roster features Swedish retro-doomsters, Graveyard which features one of the founding members of Witchcraft).
On a side note, if you ever book a tour, a good combo would be you with Asrtra. Your two bands would complement each other well, I think. They're a band from San Diego whose debut, The Weirding, is best described as classic Yes combined with classic Crimson 'darkened' over with a tiny hint of early Danzig (in 'feel', not necessarily in sound.) They're signed to Dorrian's Rise Above, too.

Hey Soundmaster...we are of the same mind on this. I'm aware of Astra, and the fact that they are in San Diego. My hope is we can ride the wave of their visibility right now....maybe be part of the California psych/rock revival...or maybe even be part of the formation of that wave! My major plan is to try to connect with Rise Above, and one of the round about ways I thought I'd do that was to also send the album to the guys in Astra. We'll be sending straight to Rise Above (and I'm noting the labels you guys are mentioning), but everything helps. Obviously they have a connection at Rise Above...so...fingers crossed.
Just listening to Outside the Prison, love the intro and way you held that sustain for the extra. Nice riffs and OLD tone. Vocal approach reminds me of John DuCann from Atomic Roosters album Death Walks Behind You, only his voice was deeper and lyrics darker. I like the Monkery during the solo and the guitar work itself reminds of classic Neil Young jams. Only thing I will critisize would be to find more vocal dynamics, expression and melodic range but that is a matter of my taste, I personally cant sing worth a hoot.
like the other three songs too, your vocals are much stronger and pleasing, another day is back to the same thing, needs some grit and fire
