A different recommendation now, a band I'm sure many of you have not heard of (they're local but their CD can be purchased nataionally, it's on cdnow.com ...) but are damn good and deserve some credit. Epic death metal, as they call it, I figure most Opeth fans would like these guys.
Anyway, they're called Garden of Shadows, they're from a city about 20 minutes away from me. Got their CD Oracle Moon recently and I was blown away by it, these guys (and girls, three of them are females including the singer, although on that CD the singer was a male) are AMAZING. I don't know if you'd be able to find any MP3's on Imesh or Kazaa or whatever (probably not) but if you goto their webpage http://members.tripod.com/gardenofshadows down near the bottom it says "Samples" and there are some samples there (I think they're about five minutse each, most songs are a bit over eight minutes). If you DO wanna search Kazaa, try the song Oracle Moon. Otherwise, just check out whatever they have on their site. Excellent band. And if you like them their CD is somethin like 12 bucks off of the end. Check 'em out!
