Does anybody know any details whatsoever about this album? Specifically the drums, guitars, and vocals, but mostly the drums. That ride and OH sound is perfect!

I have no doubt that a large part of the sound is due to how godly Reno Killerich is behind a kit, and how solid of a musician Galder is, but I can't find anything at all about the production of this album.

Oh yeah, definitely. One of the reasons I die over Nick Barkers drum work is because of the double ride thing - no doubt Reno took some influence from him for these parts.

I think the ride itself is the biggest factor in that sound - my old drummer got a very similar sound with a Paiste 2002 22" - both Nick and Reno use 22" Paiste rides.

I LOVE old mans child! Tell me more about the ride on both sides thing! Im also dying to now witch amp Galder uses (powerball? savage?)!

The double ride technique is something that I personally love, but not very many drummers can pull it off well. Like gravity blasts, it's best done in spurts, and no more than 1-2x per song.

Basically, the drummer has his standard ride, and a ride to the side of his hats, sometimes above, sometimes left of, etc...

He just plays the part, usually matching the kicks, on both rides. A key example of this would be on Vermin's War of Fidelity, at 2:56-3:05.

When I saw him at Ozzfest in '04, Galder was using a Powerball, but this sounds way too mid-present for a Powerball, and definitely doesn't sound as processed. I'd guess that it's a Savage or SE.

I've become intensely disillusioned about overly expensive (>$2000) hi-gain amps and amp-makers, but I still lust for a Savage 120...

Genius Gone Insane "Not really a band, just Galder from Dimmu" No, no,no and no, for fuck's sake, search on the web and you'll find that's Galder from Old Man's Child who goes into Dimmu and not the opposite !! (there was a split between Old Man's Child and Dimmu Borgir at the beginning of their "carrer")

Old Mans Child was a full on band up until Galder joined Dimmu...then it bacame less of a band and more of a project HOWEVER, the album Ill Natured Spiritual Invasion probably validates this because the only one available was Galder, so he hired Gene Hoglan and did everything else himself.

The double ride thing *at least* goes back to Sean Reinert ("Lack Of Comprehension") though he was doing it on the bell of his hat and his ride...this is where Peter Wildoer was inspired by it, and he uses it quite a bit.

On that page it says he used Engl amps for Vermin, but it doesn't say anything specifically.
