So you mean old school ok... it's different cause for me Death,Deicide,CC, and the others are the "old stuff" and Benighted,Arsis,Quo Vadis, etc. are the "modern stuff" :) . Sorry.
I like the mixture of old shool death and modern sound (like Bloodbath :p).

From urbandictionary

metalcore kid 53 up, 23 down love ithate it

how to spot a metalcore kid:

dress: tight, faded fashioncore band shirts (most likely to have the band name in front of a pool of blood) tight, faded/ripped jeans that cost way too much, bandana around neck or mouth, white studded belt.

appearance: shaved head/mid length hair covering eye, stupid looking tunnels in earlobes the sixe of your pinky, lip and/or eyebrow piercings optional.

music: Usually whatever faux metal/hardcore band it's cool to like at the time. Nowadays, it's Norma Jean, Underoath, Atreyu, etc.

dance: Hardcore dancing (Swinging your arms and legs around in a vain attempt to look HxC)

attitude: An air of great superiority due to their apparently "flawless" taste in music and fashion.

Screen name: includes too many X's, words like "gun", "bang", and "kill". Often including their current favorite band's name.

Known to take oddly angled myspace pictures that all look the same, edit them in photoshop, then post 20 of them on their HxC pimped out Myspace.
Metalcore kids should be euthanized.

Are we talking genuinely old death metal ('85-'93), or are we talking about bands supposedly in the "old school" style that actually sound like Pantera riffs broken into a tremolo with a kick roll underneath?

that's death 'n' roll, smartass n00b... old school between '85 and '93? hmmm, Breeding Death was recorded on '99, sounds pretty old school to me :Smug:

Bloodbath is exactly what I'm talking about (not "death 'n roll," which sounds like death metal covers of mid-period Cathedral): death metal technique applied to the commercial metal of the mid-90s and later. Stuff like Bloodbath, Death Breath, etc. is precisely what I don't see as holding up the spirit of the genuine old school.

HAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHHAAHAHAHAHAA
You're saying BLoodbath is a commercial band right? PLEASE say that's what you're saying, fucking HILARIOUS:lol::lol::lol:
