My locking trem Ibanez s series has a metal nut that is V shaped and is designed to take all string gauges. Because of this I use it almost exclusively for recording as I can change from standard to B without needing to go get a new nut cut, I just need to adjust for intonation and truss rod.
So what I want to know is if there is a one size fits all nut that anyone has heard of. Fender has some sort of roller nut with ball bearings that clamp down on the strings, but I don't think it is to take all string gauges I think it is just an even higher quality nut than standard.
A one size fits all nut would be a godsend for any recording musician. Are there any?
