On Line Metal Awards is over, and Saxon didn't get any price Opeth was the big winner, I have never even heard them.

Opeth are a Prog Death Metal band. The singer mixes growling and cleaning vocals. The music is very dark and kinda hypnotic, then get's very heavy and thrash. They have 6 albums to date. I like them, but I can understand why alot of people are turned off by them. Their stuff isn't for everyone. You can find Mp3s of their stuff easily on the 'net. Have a listen for yourself.

I don't mind Opeth but there's a lot better bands out there.

Personally I quite like Opeth and it was nice to see In Flames do well. A fuckin' brilliant band.

Thing is though is this is done on Ultimate Metal, and you only have to look at the number of hits the Opeth, In Flames boards get to see why they won.

Yeah, this black, death metal, or whatever you might call it, seems to be very big right now.

Check out In Flames they rock! They play melodic death metal that sounds very Maiden at times.
