It struck me this morning that now-ish might be a good time to get another mix trade underway. Since it seems to take us a couple of months to get everything sent out anyway, this way by early summer we'll have some nice new music to listen to.
As a theme this time, let's do TWINNED MIXES! That is, put on TWO songs by each artist on your mix. This will lower the overall number of bands represented, but I think it will encourage people to think harder about the musicians they DO choose and pick stuff from across their careers. You can scatter and integrate the songs at will, or put them one after another, or make two "sides" (halves) of the mix with the same artists on each...it matters not. (If you don't want to do this kind of mix, feel free to make a regular one).
We'll follow the same format we have for the other three...POST HERE if you want in on the mix trade. After a week or two, I'll take the names of everyone who's posted that they want in and randomly sequence them. Then each person will make a mix for the person BELOW them on the list (the person at the top will receive a mix from the person at the bottom of the list). Once the list is set up, PM the person above you your address.
Let's try to have the mixes sent out by the first week of June or so, so we have plenty of time to arrange the ones we want. If anyone got screwed out of a mix in the last trade, post here and let me know and we will forbid your flaky mix-sender from participating.
Mix CDs are the rule, unless you communicate with the person you end up being grouped with and get approval to send a tape, minidisc, etc.
When you have sent out your mix, POST THE TRACK LIST HERE, IN THIS THREAD. If you want to be surprised and don't want to see the track list of the mix you're receiving, well, after the list is set up, tell the person making you a mix to hold off posting it until you've received the mix.
I'll try to find and top the MIX TRADE III thread so people can get a look at the old mixes. Anything else I'm forgetting?
