I played "The drapery falls" for one of my friends and he thought "they felt to sorry for themselves". He didn't hear the growling stuff. Besides he's kind of prejudiced of things he doesn't know. He's never heard Type O Negative, but he's still convinced that they suck big-time and that they sound like Nine Inch Nails, Ministry or some other industrial shit! It might sound a little weird that he thinks Opeth feels to sorry for themselves when he's a major fan of Jeff Buckley.

When I wrote my thread I must admit that I hadn't read all of the other threads, so I'll give another comment:

whoever said opeth is girly is just ignorant and narrow minded, their an awesome band, some people just lack the intelligence to understand such brilliance

I don't really think this is any better! You're saying you people are narrowminded, ignorant and you want to cut them because they don't like Opeth and they say they're wuzzy. Is it any better saying that these people suck just because they don't like Opeth. Music and taste is a subjective matter. My friends doesn't give a shit for most of the music I listen too and vice versa, but that doesn't make me ignorant or narrowminded and neither are they. Opeth is one of my favorite bands, but if the guy I mentioned thought it was wuz-metal, fine. He doesn't like them, that's fine by me, but doesn't make him stupid. Beatles' song "Yesterday" must have some sort genious too it, as it's one of the most covered songs of all time, but still I can't stand that song! That doesn't mean I don't understand genious, I just don't like the song and the same with people who don't like Opeth. I think it doesn't really matter if they call it "girly metal/wuz metal" or simply says it sucks, it's basically a matter of taste and you can't discuss taste (or discuss it forever which is the same).
I know I have said this many times before, but I'm getting a little tired of people putting down "orders" that this is good and this bad. It's a free world we live in!
