the tone from those albums is going to be mainly from the amps and production...not from the guitar pickups...for jacksons always sound more or less the same, unless you have some really weird pickup choice. however, i dont know what kind of pickups they used back then.

From the Witchwood '96 bootleg video (both Mike and Peter playing Jacksons), they look like EMGs to me...but the quality isn't great, so I could be wrong.

They were EMG's. I'd presume that they used the classic 81 - Bridge and 85 - Neck combo. Although I personally preffer an 85 in the bridge.

I use an 81 in the bridge and a 60 in the neck. I get a pretty good Orchidish sound coming out of my Boogie. Really trebly and raw.
