Yes, they are playing tonight. Well, at least, so far they are supposed to. Unless something comes up till the evening.
OPETH Cancel Edmonton Date, Reschedule For Two Days Later - Jan. 21, 2004
Sweden's OPETH were forced to cancel their date in in Edmonton (Canada) on Tuesday, January 20 due to one of their members falling ill. However, they have rescheduled a new date for Thursday, January 22 at Red's.
OPETH are in the middle of a North American tour with MOONSPELL and DEVILDRIVER. The group's next show will take place Wednesday (January 21) at Macewan Hall in Calgary.

Yep, I just got off the phone with Greg (Mac Hall) and he confirmed Opeth will be doing a revised set. Apparently, their drum tech knows only a few of their songs so they will be playing some pure acoustic songs as well (no drums). They are going to do the best that they can.
They also said that if they have to cut the set short, they will be refunding a percentage of ticket costs at the door. Personally, I think they should keep the coin.

Good to hear they are still playing, I was getting scared there for a while (I'm glad I checked this board for news).
It's still going to be a good show, but I would rather have heavy Opeth over acoustic Opeth any day.
Hope they come back to Alberta some day and make up for it (especially for Edmonton, who are getting totally screwed).

No DVD yet.. they had promo brochures for it though, the DVD's still on for February 24. They had T-Shirts... I dunno if they were official tour t shirts.. I think they were.

I wish Lopez gets well very quick and joins the band next week or something..
