Opeth in INDIA !

This is amazing news. Tickets can be got only from within the college? Gotta make some friends in IITM fast :D
There has never really been an international band I've looked forward to going and seeing around here but this is an incredible exception.

I wonder how the Saarang people actually pulled this off. I'm guessing Opeth will be vacationing in India then considering they seem to be taking a break from touring now. They've mention Opeth as an alternative rock band on the Saarang blog but I hope they do mix it up with their heavier stuff. Also, hoping they play something from Still Life.

Hmmm...and I coincidentally happen to be in IITM :kickass:
So any hardcore fans PM me and I can grab a few tickets...
Just don't stretch my finances asking for many... ;)

You Indians certainly seem varied in your taste in Opeth songs.

Enjoy! They're even better live (on most songs, but not really all).

Not really man. Its just the hardcore opeth fans , who like the obscure songs that noone else listens to .
Most of the indians like only the 'commercial ' opeth ie. Deliverance , damnation and the other brilliant stuff which everyone listens to.
Anyway , whats wrong with The funeral portrait ? It has a smooth ,evil acoustic intro that moves seamlessly into pumping riffs . A sad solo and haunting clean vocals which are second only to Bleak. Naaice.

Not counting the RR years, BWP is the best (known) Opeth album.

Yolo! Which Ananth is this? I play alongside one....

yea, PXVI will be a while before we put anything out, mid-09

I am Ananth ' The kid ' running around in the scene man :D I admire the Ananth you play with though!

The Strange Brew interview with kryptos is epic man ! Its stuck on my wall, I read the part where everyone takes Axe's trip whenever I'm bored :D

IIT Saarang has a contest called "decibels" < http://saarang.org/2009/events/music/wm/decibels > for the bands that have qualified to play at the IIT saarang fest. Good to know WE made it to the prelims out of the 190 odd bands that tried to qualify for it...Opeth would be judging the finals, that would be 5 bands that'd qualify from the prelims. Hope we make it...atleast i need my opeth shirt signed !!! :headbang:
