Opeth live @ Mellotronen Festival March 13-14th?

I'll definitely be there.

You may hate boats, but you won't want to miss this one!!! (Take motion sickness tablets with you!!! I'll make sure I have some for friends in need!)

The boat's bigger than an apartment house ten stories high and the Baltic Sea is quite small so sea sickness is not a real consern. I've been aboard for several times and never have I seen anybody sufferning from it.

Hmm i wonder is it possible to get on boat at Helsinki? Or well it depends when Opeth is performing ofc. Just dont feel like traveling to Stockholm before the gig.

Sorry if this has been asked before, but what is the capacity of the boat?I am just wondering if I would have to buy my tickets immediately following the release date or if I would have some time left...

Sure!

Info about the boat:
PASSENGERS: 2852
CABINS: 995
LENGTH: 204 meters

You could always check with Silja line as to how quickly the tickets are selling:

+46 (0)8-22 21 40.

Well if anyone's still in doubt...

Opeth have confirmed that they'll appear on the so called Melloboat, a organized ferrytrip between Stockholm and Helsinki. The spectacle, christened "The 21st anniversary schizoid boat" is being organized by the Mellotronen record label and will feature a nothing less but stunning line-up of bands. Among them Opeth, Katatonia, Comus (re-uniting for their first gig since 1972), Leafhound, Trettioåriga kriget, Anekdoten and many more. Some exclusive secret gigs will also take place that is not to be missed!! It's a 24hr cruise that leaves Stockholm on the 8th of March 2008.

I'd never heard of this before and only know a select few of the bands but seriously considered going for it when I heard - mostly to see Opeth again. I'd sure as hell spend a few hours sea sick for the guys! For those who've been on it/know about it, what's the event like? I'm more interested in the 'exclusive secret gigs' though:D

How fast will these ticets sell do you recon? Will the agelimit be 18 or 20? and what was the price for the last years ticets?

There's no way of telling how fast the tickets will sell...and the age limit, not sure on that one. I think the Silja Line people will be able to answer that one. The tickets for the last cruise depended on how many were in the cabin and on which part of the baot the cabin was. If there were 4 people sharing a cabin on say, the lowest level, the ticket price per person was 500 SEK. So it was variable. This time around, it's a larger boat, and a longer cruise.

in fact it seems that bands will play on 2 evenings, on saturday and sunday...

I doubt it. But the SIlja people will be able to answer that. And bands will play both nights, Saturday and Sunday. The schedule is up on the Melloboat's myspace page (as well as their Facebook page "Mello Boat"):

www.myspace.com/melloboat

For the schedule, you'll have to view the band logos in the photo folder.

There will also be a little taste of what's to come soon on Youtube, a 9 minute sound and picture slide show will be available so you can hear a little bit from all the bands that will be playing.

I'll do it in the morrow. I've had a bit too much red wine for tonight (surprised I can spell). Decadent for a Tuesday night, I know, but I have a good excuse, hahahah.

I'll post the lineup when I wake up tomorrow.

i'm not old enough to go,and it is boring and sceary to go to any festival or consert by yourself
