Opinions on Slough Feg?

this band absolutely fucking Rules!! Down Among The Deadmen and Traveller are my two personal faves but Twilight of The Idols and the S/T first album also kick some ass,btw if anyone has or knows where to get the first one on cd lemme know(sick of playing my vinyl version),may have come back into print not sure,anyway this band is superlative!!

The S/T is still out of print. When I saw them last year I asked Mike about it and he said the label is supposed to be reissuing it but there's no ETA on it

Total thumbs up. I'm glad to see others here appreciate them. I always wondered if they were too underground for the Progpower crowd.

would I be wrong to compare The Sword and Slough Feg?

I like both from what I hear, but for some reason prefer The Sword over Slough Feg.

Yes. The Sword is a bunch of shitty trendsters, with horrible vocals, and recycled riffs. Slough Feg is true metal.

The Sword are all right. I really enjoyed their debut, and am so far not as impressed with the follow up, and I agree that they are "trendsters" in that they do not really have roots in metal...unlike Slough Feg, who have been mashing it up for years playing TRUE heavy metal a la Brocas Helm, Cirith Ungol, or Manilla Road. All hail the Lord Weird Slough Feg...I love the band, and I've seen them live twice (in an awesome shitty tiny little club in Charlotte, NC called The Milestone). I own every CD Slough Feg has put out except their extremely-hard-to-find s/t first album...great fucking band.
