Original Helloween lineup to reunite

In my humble opinion, I'm not exactly sure what good would come from this. The only person who truly stands to benefit from this would be Kiske...and if they're not looking to do anything until 2015, Kiske may decide he no longer likes metal anymore. And where does Andi stand in all this?

Kiske is a parasite. He bad mouths Metal, but latches on to all kinds of Metal projects for a check.

Who cares?!?!

He's a professional musician, right?!?!

Professionals get money for their work, right?!?!?!

What's your point? The whole "Do it strictly for the love of metal" is old news...

Amen! And the thing is, Kiske is the only one I think that makes this difficult as he has been pretty vocal about not wanting anything to do with Weikath.

I really don't like that this news is coming out because I really just think it's getting fans hopes up as I truly doubt this will happen. And like you said, I don't see the point other than having a tour. I don't want them to completely reunite because I love Helloween as they are and actually I prefer Deris. Not to mention, by 2015, who knows what shape these guys will be in.

What love of Metal?
Kiske's disparagement of Metal has long been on record. His attempts to drag Helloween away from Metal led to their worst albums, and resulted in his being fired from the band.
He agreed to appear on The first Avantasia album under the pseudonym "Ernie" to hide his identity.
"Love of Metal." What a joke.

My point is that I believe an artist should respect the art. It's hypocritical to trash a music form while using it to draw a paycheck.
YMMV.

I disagree...IMO he does more AOR/hard rock/Frontiers projects than anything. I guess you can consider Avantasia a metal project, but for the most part, he's avoided it like the plague. LOL

~Brian~

Plague? Must be a Pandemic he has been unable to avoid.

Gamma Ray - Land of the Free
Avantasia - The Metal Opera (Under the name "Ernie" to avoid being associated with a Metal project).
Timo Tolkki's solo album - Hymn to Life.
Aina- Days of Rising Doom.
Thalion - Another Sun.
Tribuzy - Execution.
Edguy - Superheroes (EP).
Avantasia - Lost in Space Part I & II.
Trick or Treat - Tin Soldiers.
Avantasia - The Scarecrow, The Wicked Symphony, and Angel of Babylon.
Revolution Renaissance - New Era.
Gamma Ray - To the Metal.

Re-read my post, smarty... I never implied Kiske loved metal, and I'm more aware than you think that he bashed the style for ages.

My point is that you came across like everyone (including Kiske) should do it for the love of art/metal. Professional, seasoned musicians like Kiske and Helloween don't do that. There's always a paycheck behind a situation like this. They are pro musicians who do music as WORK and thats what feeds their children.

I got news for you. Music is not just art. There's a reason it's called music business.

Your misunderstanding of my post and thinking I said Kiske loves metal... That's the real joke.

I guess I'm thinking of stuff that he actually did lead vocals for within recent years, aside from a guest spot like these bands you listed. I don't know, I just associate him with stuff like Place Vendome and Kiske/Sommerville, etc.

Original Helloween lineup to reunite
sorry but this is the ORIGINAL Lineup:
Kai Hansen
Michael Weikath
Markus Grosskopf
Ingo Schwichtenberg

What is actually considering reuniting is the CLASSIC lineup from the Keeper of the Seven Keys era...
Michael Kiske
Kai Hansen
Michael Weikath
Markus Grosskopf
Ingo Schwichtenberg (Minus Ingo who is not longer with us died in 1995)

2015.... heh.

Yes. What's the point with that 2015 thing? We're only half in 2012, Helloween is still going with its present line-up. Who knows what will happen in 2½ years? That's weird news...And must not be too pleasant to read for a guy like Andi Deris.

BTW, even if I'm not too thrilled by their recent outputs, I prefer the Deris-era over the Kiske-era. The Dark Ride is my fave Helloween album. So, a Kiske reunion for Helloween leaves me quite cold...

I like HELLOWEEN, GAMMA RAY, and UNISONIC as is. If it means GR and UNISONIC can't co-exist with HELLOWEEN than I don't see the point of a reunion. Plus, it would kill any momentum UNISONIC has before they even get off the ground. Not to mention boning Andi Deris and Sascha Gerstner out of a job.
