ORPHEUS OMEGA - On the verge of releasing our second album, ‘ResIllusion’ we’ve had to make an official change to the band name in order to prevent any copyright and trademark issues that could arise in the future which would prevent us as a band to distribute our music in certain countries or areas and so, stopping you guys, our fans from being able to get our music.

Going forward as a band, we’ve decided to make a small amendment to the name to remain both unique and evolving along with the concepts and foundations the band and the ideas stemmed from.

As Orpheus the character is a part of important Greek mythology, we felt the logical addition to the name would be simply OMEGA as noted on the new logo with the Omega symbol sitting behind the original logo. We are still the same Orpheus you know and love and hope that this is an easy transition for you guys and for us. We look forward to kicking your ass with the new album.
Horns to you all

And with this news, comes the SECOND single and video clip off of the new album for Sans Memoria

Digging the name, song is pretty nice (really digging the vocals) overall it reminds me of older In Flames from time to time.

The video...not a fan, imho it looks a bit like it was shot with a cheap cam and not under the best circumstances and than
somebody tried to "fix it in the mix" if you get what I mean, sure, I've seen way worse, but the music and production of the
music is way above the quality of the video.

Just wanted to say that you guys are fucking awesome, keep up the good work. Hit me up if you guys come over to Perth, I'll be sure to come down.

Edit: By the sounds if it, this was done by Ermin like your last album? Mix is crazy good.

@StefTD: I hear you man, and honestly, we know :P Basically we just wanted something to accompany the name change + introduce a new single off the album :) There will be another clip, a proper high budget one etc. But not right now.
@Frak: Thanks dude, I appreciate that a lot. and ACTUALLY... I did the mix on this one :P

Have to say Chris I wasn't sure if there'd be a significant drop in quality now you were mixing your own material but you really maintained the level Ermz set (and in some areas raised it) over your last EPs mix. Good job :)

@owen: Thanks a lot man, I appreciate the honesty. And trust me.. how do you think I FELT while mixing it knowing what shoes I was filling lol! So I HAD to make it at least passable. Glad you think I improved some areas. I'd say that comes from learning the mistakes from last time and just applying it in the process this time that's all. I'm definitely happy with the mix overall.

@unavaoidable: Cheers dude! I like it too, I'm not too bummed at all :D

Just listened, song was badass! Reminds me of Disarmonia Mundi, and the production was really killer. Will be checking out more of this for sure, I especially dig the ultra middy/metallic guitar tone during the riffage!

@dark Tom - gotta give the people what they want right? Haha! Glad you're digging it, I love that riff too haha! So chunky

@soultrash - cheers dude, it's a fun track! There's some really awesome stuff all over the album. I can't wait til it's out :)

I really enjoyed what I heard of the pre-production material of this album. It's good to know that the final product was executed well.

Like the other guys I like the song and mix but think the video really does both a disservce.

Cheers again guys! I very much appreciate your thoughts and kind words! The constructive criticism is definitely appreciated too, but I have to stress, there are plans in the works for upping our game in terms of a PROPER video finally haha. This was originally just going to be a lyrics video, but we wanted to have something out to go along with the name change etc, showing us, in our current form and what not. I know it's cruddy, but it achieves what we intended and that's what matters for now.

@Soultrash - That's interesting, because it's the 1 element of the mix I'm not completely keen on haha. But sure here's the chain!

Rhythm - Mahogany body, maple neck Seymour Duncan JB -> Maxon OD808 -> Peavey 6505+ -> Mesa Recto 4x12
Leads - Alder body, maple neck thru Seymour Duncan Distortion -> Maxon OD808 -> Mesa Mark IV -> Mesa Recto 4x12

Thanks again guys! And thanks for the order Osum! \m/

thanks for the info man!
the guitars have so much bite it's insane, i guess that's the 808 working there.
