Oh, and I think Andy Serkis should have gotten a nomination. He didn't because his flesh and blood wasnt actually shown on screen. If they hadn't gone for the digital Gollum, and had an actor with makeup, he would have won. His perfomance was absolutley top notch, and made Gollum into one of the most memorable characters from any film ever!

Charlize ALWAYS looks stunning... Well except maybe in that movie, I havent seen it so I dont know...

Finding Nemo should've won more.

I was pissed off when Lord of the Rings took out best original song over A Mighty Wind, that's just wrong.

Yeah the only one that LOTR won that I was a bit iffy about was the best original song.

I am damn glad it won best picture. :kickass:

The only thing that really annoyed me was I would have loved to see Johnny Depp or Bill Murray win for best actor, but the fact that they were both even nominated (ahead of the likes of Russel Crowe etc) is a top nod in itself I guess.

I hate LOTR.

I think it's overhyped pretty tripe. OOooo the battles look nice, pity the story is shit.

You know what, I hate star wars to.

The best trilogy ever is Indiana Jones.

Koichi, you're fuckin kidding yourself arnt ya....

The story in LOTR is one of its highlights. Sure, the battles are very well done and the effects are awesome, but the story is what really makes the film!

The story doesn't interest me, it's a boring, run of the mill quest.

I have tried to like it, but it just shits me.

Chopper Chicks in Zombie Town, now theres a movie

The story is excellent. It isn't that it is run of the mill and stereotypical, it is that it is revolutionary, and helped to create the stereotypes that you see in it. For example, when the book was written, Gandalf wasn't a stereotypical wizard, his character helped to create that stereotype, and that goes for pretty much every other aspect of the story.

That is because A), you have no respect and B), it is better than anything that has imitated it since the books were written anyway, so even if it is 'run of the mill' story line wise because it has been done since the books were written, it is better.

Simply saying you didn't like it would be fine, but saying you don't like it because it is 'run of the mill' is a stupid.
