The best movie series?

By series I mean trilogy or higher.

Some ideas to get it going:

Alien
Lord of the Rings
Star Wars
The Mummy
Matrix
Rambo
Terminator
Mad Max
Jaws
Starship Troopers
Saw

Etc etc.

For consistency I'd say Lord of the Rings and the original Star Wars trilogy would be my favourites, not a bad film in the bunch. (Lets not ruin it by mentioning the prequels!)

Alien would be up there but Alien3 and Resurrection don't hold a candle to the first two movies. I also love the first two Mad Max movies... But number 3 isn't so great.

Even though Numbers 3 and 8 sucked (3 really had nothing to do with the series), I've always been a huge fan of the Halloween series

Michael Myers just kicks ass, I like him way more than Jason or Freddy.
