Any Saturday Night Live fans?

I was lucky enough to recieve a copy of Saturday Night Live - The Complete First Season for Christmas. So far, I'm really loving it! I've watched the first 7 episodes, the latest one being the one hosted by Richard Pryor:worship: .

I was wondering if anyone knows what the future plans for the releases are. How often will they release a set and will they release every season, or just the early ones with the original cast? I can't seem to find these answers anywhere else, including the SNL official website.

Thanks!

I would tend to think that if season one sells well enough, they'll be announcing new seasons soon. The problems with classic TV on DVD are the clearance rights for music (a lot of songs have to be changed out because the costs for the originals are too high) and low anticipated sales.

I'd advise keeping an eye on tvshowsondvd.com - I check that site daily.

I got the Best of Will Ferrell SNL skits for my birthday last month. My two favorite skits are the Blue Oyster Cult skit (More Cowbell) and when he plays Alex Trebek on celebrity Jeopardy.
Burt Reynolds -"I'll take ape-tit for $200.00 Alex.
Alex Trebek -"That's apetite, Mr. Reynolds."
Burt -"yeah, whatever"

Remember Mr Robinsons Neighbor..

Mr. Robinson: [ singing ]
"It's a beautiful day in the neigborhood
A beautiful day for a neighbor.
Would you be mine?
Could you be mine?
Won't you be my neighbor?"

Hello, boys and girls! You know, Christmas is a special time in Mr. Robinson's neighborhood. It's a time for giving, and look what Mr. Landlord gave me - it's an eviction notice. Well, that's why Mr. Robinson has to wear this Santa Claus suit to sneak in and out of his building. But it just isn't a disguise, boys and girls. Because, when I add this little pail here, and when I have this little bell, it becomes a small business. [ rings the bell ] Yes, Christmas is a season for giving, and for taking! And with this little operation, I figure I'll be taking on about $300-400 a day! Oh, why oh why, must Christmas come but once a year?

[ puts his stuff away ]

You know, another reason why Mr. Robinson likes Christmas so much, boys and girls, is because I have so much in common with Santa Claus. We both like to sneak into your house late at night. Only Mr. Santa Claus likes to leave things. Mr. Robinson prefers to take a few things every now and then. Let's see what I have for Christmas today. [ reaches into his sack ] Oh, look.. a little doll baby! Isn't it so cute, boys and girls? It's not worth a lot right now, but, through the miracles of modern science.. [ pulls off the head, and replaces it with a cabbage ] ..Cabbage Patch doll! Now they're worth a lot of cabbage! I could sell these to little stupid kids for about $50 each! $50 each! Can you believe that! That's why I love Christmas! And that's today's word, boys and girls. [ walks over to the word board, which has "X-MAS" written on it ] "Christ-mas". You know any other words that start with "X", boys and girls? How about.. [ flips card over to show word "X-CON" ] ..Ex-con"? [ a knock is heard at the door ] Who could that be, boys and girls?

Voice At Door: Robinson! Are you the guy that sold my kid a head of lettuce with a dress on it?!

Mr. Robinson: That reminds me of another word, boys and girls, that begins with "X" - "Ex-scape"! [ grabs his bag ] Well, I'll see you later. And remember: "Tomorrow, tomorrow, I'll visit you tomorrow when you're sound asleep.." [ jumps out window ] Goodbye, boys and girls!

"Alex...I have to ask you about...the Penis Mightier."
No...that's "The Pen Is Mightier"

A couple weeks ago, I ended up watching a new episode. I did not laugh once. It wasn't funny at all.

Bring back the days of Unfrozen Caveman Lawyer, the Superfans, and Massive Headwound Harry.

"I'm just a caaaaaveman, your laws frighten and confuse me."

If you remember, in the early 80's, the show got really bad, then they picked up Eddie Murphy and BAM, funny again. I'm hoping they can come back again.

I'm a big SNL fan, I've been watching since I was a kid and now I have it recording on my DVR both new and old on all channels, I love it all. Chris Parnell has to be my favorite cast member, he's funny as hell. I love when he rapped on update, damn he can rap for a middle-aged white boy. I remember the skit where him and everyone at the dinner table chewed food and spit it into the next person's mouth, sick as hell to watch but man it was funny. I think the newest cast is kicking ass, still as funny as ever

That's sounds pretty gross, but I'm sure it was funny!

I think you're the first person that I know of that's said the new shows are funny. I haven't seen it much in the last couple of years. I'm getting old and can't stay up that late!

Yeah I don't stay up late much either, but my DVR always records it for me. I definitely like the new cast, the skits are edgier and I guess it fits my humor. I love the cartoon skits too, the ambiguously gay duo just kills me.
