Any fans? I had never heard them untill today! I know, I'm late in the game!

Anyway, which cd's should I hear first?

HUGE MELVINS fan here!!!

Well, I would say their most accessible albums would be
"(A) Senile Animal"--I haven't taken this album out of my player since getting it:headbang: Them getting the guys from Big Business to join the band is the best thing they could have done.
"Stoner Witch"
"Houdini"--Honeybucket..Check that song out.
"Bullhead" This is the first album I heard by them and is what got me into The Melvins.
"Hostile Ambient Takeover":headbang:
"Stag"--is a good album but has some weird stuff on it also..So it may not be for everyone.
"Crybaby"--has some killer moments on it. I love the song with Danny Carey and Daledoe having a drum off.
"Melvins/Lustmord" is a good collaboration album and the song "Pigs of The Roman Empire" fucking rips.

Get those albums and you are off to a good start. They have a ton of albums, but those are my favs. I've seen the Melvins about 28 times now and hopefully will see them 28 more times. Melvins are my all-time favorite band!!
I have about 45 bootleg dvds of these guys. I'm trying to find the rest of the 180 or so that are floating around..You are real fucking late to the game, mikey:lol: :p

I think Houdini or Stoner Witch would be a good place to start. Some Melvins CD's are great, others are just borderline noise.

Have you bought (A) Senile Animal yet? Quite possibly the best one they have put out to date...But you are right, some of their albums are borderline noise. I bought a 7" at one of their shows and the whole thing was just guitar feedback and nothing else. Fuckers:lol: That is the thing about them, they love to fuck with their fans.

That's a nice collection! I didn't know they were they band that did the KISS solo album cover thing! I've seen that before, but just never realized who it was!
