Outstanding Albums of This Decade

Seth, you are talking about Dream Theater, right? Well I'm agree in that thing of love them or hate them -well- I love them.
I like their versatility, their voices, and his drummer, he's very creative. Conclusion: That's what I like in a band, versatility to create songs.
(probably with these things said, some of you'll throw loads of shit to me, lol)

Luz.-
actually Luz i love DT :worship:

Train of Thought to me was a very rushed album due to Elektra...I just think of it as an all out metal jam session for Dream Theater. It has a very high potential of being a top metal album...they just needed more time to work on it.

yes, but you dont see something wrong with Converge or Farmakon having the best anything of any genre of any decade? i do. :erk:

Thats just your opinion and I think Converge is the best hardcore/metal band in history. Generally I don't like hardcore metal that much because there is so much garbage out there but I think Converge has something more to offer and they are pretty unique if you ask me. There lyrics are good and there sound is really great at least on the albums I have mentioned above.
I don't see why you have to post this comment above because everybody has there opinion and you can't change mine as long as I can't change yours.
So stop acting like you have the ultimate taste in music.

Thank you Risquit. Very nice list. Good to see some open-minded music fans. Lucinda Williams & Sinead are great! I tried to get into hail to the theif but never really could. Same with Los Lonely Boys. Good guitar tone, but never really liked the songs.

My list is a little varied, so bear with me.

Theatre of Tragedy-Velvet Darkness They Fear
Katatonia-all (I have no favorites...)
Opeth-all (same as Katatonia)
Bloodbath-Resurrection Through Carnage
Deicide-Once Upon The Cross
Novembers Doom-To Welcome The Fade
Lacrimas Profundere-Burning: A Wish
Immortal-Sons of Northern Darkness
Alice In Chains-whatever was released within the past decade
Chevelle-This Type Of Thinking Could Do Us In
Radiohead-Ok Computer/Hail To The Thief
Hypocrisy-Abducted, and Fourth Dimension if it was within this past decade
Goatwhore-Funeral Dirge For The Rotting Sun
Skid Row-Slave To The Grind (shut up)
Rotting Christ-all released in this decade
Cradle of Filth-Cruelty and the Beast
Dimmu Borgir-Enthrone Darkness Triumphant
Death-Symbolic
Impaled-Mondo Medicale
Lamb of God-Ashes of the Wake
Tristania-Widows Weeds

I think that about covers it...

woah woah kid, relax. im not trying to insult anyones opinion or change anyones mind. i simply found it odd that those 2 bands did the most for you out of ALL of the releases in the last decade...i just found it intruiging.

i dont have the ultimate taste in music....perhaps beethoven or vivaldi are the only people to ever have that. ;)

I'd like to add some nice tones:
Gjallarhorn - Ranarop // Modern folk music with incredible soundspheres
Tenhi - Väre // Melancholic acoustic music with ambitious artistic views
Mokoma - Kurimus // Finnish thrash metal, sounds very fresh and enthusiastic
Portishead - s/t // Silky tones, relaxing atmospheres, one of my favourite female vocalists
Nightwish - Angels Fall First // I can't understand why they later abandoned the beautiful acoustics. Very original.

I'm not mad at you or anything, It was just pretty irritating when you said a thing like that. I still can't understand why you find it odd, like I said before everybody has there opinion. I thought you and most people that listened to Opeth where open-minded but maybe I'm wrong. I was just suprised because I thought you where I guy like me that listened to almost all kinds of music but when you post a thing like that you sound like the opposite if you understand what I mean (ofcourse you don't have to listen to Converge to be open-minded but you understand what I mean.) I just don't want to limit myself to any genre and thats why I listen to all styles of music from Aphex twin to Yes to Converge.
And yes, beethoven and vivaldi where very good musicians but why did they have the ultimate taste in music. :erk: Thats individual. Sorry if I sounded like a angry imature 12 year old kid in the last post but I was just a little bit upset. :)

Brain's not really working at the moment (must remember to stab it with a q-tip later), but here's the best I can remember off the top of my head since 2000, like it or hate it (though I'm sure most will hate it):
