Well i bought a sansamp bass driver for my studio. The idea of direct recording is great. The other day i rehearsed with it right in front of my amp and it sounded AWESOME ! Initially i only wanted to use its distortion but now my amp sounds huge and i don´t want to let the bass driver go. So the idea is to keep the bass driver on all the time, with no distortion, just to improve the sound a lot and get a "dedicated" overdrive/distorion pedal.

Boss has one right ? Is it any good ?

What other units do you guys know ?

Well i've heard really good things about the MXR DI/bass driver. I think it's called the MXR D8 or something like that.
Anyway, lots of people comparing it to the sansamp prefer the MXR.
Me....I've haven't heard either!

tech 21 has a programable bass driver too so you could potentially switch back and forth between a cleaner BD sound and a distorted one.

damn i didn´t know that one. Nevertheless, i wasn´t thinking about playing live with it but now i definetely want to. I will try to send my unit back and get the 3 channel one (don´t know if it´s available in Europe)
