Overhead EQ

Roll-off anywhere from 80 to 350hz, depending on material and what I can get from it. Usually a bell or a shelf at 100hz. Cut around 300 to 500hz. Usually cut around 2 to 3k (for the vocals) and shelf from 10k upward.

Good EQs help. ITB can get pretty harsh here. I'm considering using strictly Nebula for my high boosts from here on.

pretty much that
some of you guys are going mental with the hi pass.
but then again i try to get my drums sounding good before i reach for the samples these days.

Good tip man, im tuning my drums every session now, even when i plan on sample replacing so ill have nice sounding drums in the overheads.

As for EQ im highpassing to about 100-160hz at the most, then a slight boost at around 1k with a shelf from about 4k this seems to brighten up my cymbals and help them in the mix alot.
