Haha, I think "cheap" is a better word choice, but congrats dude! All the more pressure for me to do the same, right now I'm working on Creative Multimedia speakers (though they're $100 for the pair, so not terrible, and I also have my Sony MDR-7506 Headphones, but still...)
I wasn't recording on a walmart piece of shit system but still (not trying to insult you metaltastic).
Oh man thats rough. I was mixing on a pair of cerwin vega 5" speakers (with tweeter) running out of a receiver set to flat eq wise.
It really wasn't that bad, surprisingly none of the mixes I did on that pair sound that horrible on the new monitors.
But still this has to be the best investment I have ever done in regards to studio shit.
