Well they're def one of my fav bands so I thought I'd make a thread.

Perfect element 1 is my fav but remedy lane, and BE are all highly regarded as far as im concerned. I don't really like their first two cds entropia or one hour but I haven't really given them a fair listen either.

I loved be...I took me a while to get used to scarsick, it's quite ok but I was disappointed to discover that scarsick is part II of the perfect Element

Daniel promised big orchestrations and the story of "she"...
kind of makes you think the perfect element is going to be a trilogy

it's like you guys never listened to the first 3 albums.. it's like PoS begins with remedy lane.
first of all, riffs are boring, chuga chuga, Ideocracy even sounds like disturbed >puke< .. and every fucking song is either a ballad or those chunk chunk sucky riiffs and tribal drums..
Arangements are just too standard, boring and not inspired.. and he sings too much, trying to force all this drama and shit, instead of trying to do something interesting with the song.. he's funnier than that devil doll idiot singer..

and the lyrics.. omfg.. they are just too fucking ridiculous.. swedish guy living of social aid talking about american capitalism.. he should realise that no one gives a fuck, and he will sell 5000 copies, and he should focus on some interesting subjects (like on the first 3 albums) and not trying to shock people with some cheap and stupid lyrics about burger king and baywatch, and pathetic cursing...

and yeah, he should really stop rapping, his accent is stupid.
this album sucks ass.

scarsick only gets better and better after every listen...now it is up there with remedy lane and be for me... way past the rest of the albums.
i love how people mainly whine about the lyrics and the fact that they dare to cross limits, people hardly consentrate on the music. the music is great and the lyrics are good, some even call PoS lyrics the best. Krang: how do you feel about katatonias pathetic cursing? and katatonias boring chuga chuga riffs? the first three albums are very discussed, perfect element is by many concidered as their masterpiece..but most of their fans discovered them after remedy lane.
the songs in scarsick are perfectly put together all of the vocallines are great, this is not very riffbased music wich i like in this case, gildenlöw knows when less is more...some riffing here and there can be suiting.

My friend is a great fan of PoS, but I can't really get into them, I acknowledge their (his..) talent, but it's not my kind of thing, I don't really like Gildenlöw's voice and the music is just a bit too diverse for me. I mean, I like diverse music, but PoS pushes it to the point of inconsistency i.m.o.

I'm not too into them...kinda similar to what Tinus said. It's a bit far out there for me. Even if the new music is making fun out of something...why make a few nu metal tunes? It just seems the lyrics are something that I've known about or witnessed or don't care about. Especially the America song.

And I don't want to turn this into a political discussion....but until the main guy of POS lives here and doesn't know everything about America through the media and press, then he can just shove it.

Perfect Element 1 has some cool tunes.

Well it's quite similar to numetal...maybe numetal with a little talent? :p

And well he named the song America...and the lyrics are being directed at America...yeah.

americans should not take it personally... there's a lot of bullshit going on in america, no doubt of it... writing a lyric about it is not very irrelevant for our time... i'm sure that he is aware of the many positive things about america too and does not direct the criticism at it... as for the nu-metal "spitfall" was very sarcastic :)

Well I know this, but it's just another cheap shot to bring controversy. It's so easy to make fun out of America because of what this nation stands for to ignorant people. We have our problems just like everyone, same with the great moments. It just seems to me he stuck that on there to get a rise or to try and sell more records...oh well.

And I'm sure Spitfall wasn't meant to be taken seriously...but why make a song like that when you can be making some awesome prog?

I'll stick to _____ _______ for that ;)

I love PoS, but like Paradoxile said, I was disappointed to hear that Scarsick is TPE2, cause I was expecting the full orchestra too, btw, my favorite albums are One Hour by the Concrete Lake and Remedy Lane

Haha. Your president comment is funny. I shudder to think about Al Gore or John Kerry being president. Bush has made his share of mistakes, but I don't even want to think where we'd be under Gore.

Anyway, Scarsick is meh....I like it, but I don't. It definitely has classic moments(Cribcaged <3).

just noticed something awesome about Mrs Modern Mother Mary...none of the rythm or melody patterns in the vocals of either verses repeat them selves at all... it's like a long vocal solo of random melodies and rythms, but they fit so perfectly that people don't even notice it... never heard anything quite like this, probably one of the most thought out vocal-lines ever made.

Ahh. Yeah, I think it's like choosing the lesser of two evils/ the shit sandwich vs. the douche bag but I can't imagine anyone being worse than Bush and don't forget the snake in the grass thats with him, Cheney. In my opinion the president is a talking head anyhow and if you ask me the whole system is a joke. He definitely doesn't help the current situations any, especially considering the people he took into office with him. But I don't want to get into a political discussing because the root of the evil is materialism which is the only god people seem to worship these days. Americans forgot their roots, they were rebels who rebelled against a failing system, and this one is failing but no one is doing anything about it as long as they have a nice house, and a nice big suv in their driveway, so things will progressively get worse. The whole system is fucked, but we'll see how they like it when the shit hits the fan, and there's nothing left to save, although that might give them something to live for once again. Like they say, todays empires, tomorrows ashes.

People are so eager to point the finger elsewhere and not look at the real problem which usually comes from within. The problem with that is when people don't even know who they are anymore due to materialism and such a thing becomes impossible. We could be living better, and progressing as decent human beings but it doesn't looks like that's gonna happen anytime soon.

If anything Daniel and others like him are just trying to give us a wake up call. We're all spiritually sick.
