PARADISE LOST to support NIGHTWISh on U.S. tour.

Fucking cool. Paradise Lost is one of the two bands that got me into the whole underground metal scene to begin with, yet I've never seen them live. Of course, they hadn't played here for years, then I missed the one tour they did a couple years ago. I was initially on the fence about seeing Nightwish, but this seals it!

Yeah, I just saw this announcement on Blabbermouth. Fucking awesome. And great that it's coming to Atlanta. I'll be there no question at the Masquerade (especially considering that Nov. 17 is a SATURDAY! WOO HOO!).

Ok.....I know I'm going to sound ignorant on this one , but I've heard of Paradise Lost but have never picked up any of their stuff......what/who do they resemble? Any cd recommendations??
Thanks ~ Andy

Can anyone post the dates here?

In support of their forthcoming album release “In Requiem” on Century Media, the godfathers of Gothic Metal, Paradise Lost announce a special guest slot supporting Nightwish on their autumn tour. The tour will be only the band’s third visit to the US, after previously supporting Morbid Angel and Opeth.

Paradise Lost’s 11th album, “In Requiem”, was produced by Rhys Fulber and mixed by Mike Frazer, and marks a return to their heavy trademark sound.

Nick Holmes comments: “We can’t wait to get to the US on a great tour, and try and make an impact after years of focusing on Europe.”

As if I needed one more reason to think that the current Metal scene is not going so well, here it comes...

PL opening for Nightwish? What an insult. I know as of the last few years PL's more recent material was not exactly Earth-shattering, but still...their weakest material ever still pwns the ENTIRE Nightwish catalog.

I know someone will post how Nightwish outsells PL...but for one, I don't care, and two, Nightwish are just riding the current trend of ridiculously cheesy Metal that we are currently entrenched in.

But it'll at least get me in bed early as I'll leave after PL. Nice.
