First post, just wanting some feedback on what you guys think of the mix. Thanks.

The cymbals sound too harsh to me. I'd try taking out some frequencies between 2.5k and 6k! Apart from that, the toms could use a little more punch, try boosting some 8-9k! Rest sounds solid

Hi! Overall sound pretty good. Like Dystopian Order said, cleaning some upper mids with narrowish eq would help. Mainly guitars at 2.2k. For cymbals, hunt down frequencies which start to 'whistle' or 'fizz'. Usually this should be done in the context of the entire mix, or at least the guitar wall and cymbal mics/tracks soloed, as they usually mess with each other. Maybe take the bass (instrument) down a bit to see if it 'opens up' the sound. Drums could also use a bit more 'punch' or 'aggression' to cut through better. Instead of boosting highs from shell drum mics/tracks, you could also apply some transient enhancing parallel compression to avoid going too 'clicky' or 'cracky' with eq. ^_^
