Paschendale Australian link

Im guessing this is the same Paschendale (the spelling is slightly different)...

No I the info is right mate, I think the spelling is the region or area, which has the different spelling and the town of Paschendale

Its one of those songs that I cant help getting into... just so well done - heaps of atmosphere and emotion...

To know Aussies were a part of it... god damn it I want Bruce talking about the allied effort as he opens for this track and paying tribute to the Aussie Diggers..

How do people die in quicksand? Cos it'd be pretty much the same thing, yeah?

Their lungs fill with sand. One of my least preferred ways to die I feel.

Not that I've actually had any experience in the area, but wouldn't it more like constriction/asphixiation? The sand would let you breathe out, but then it would settle and it wouldn't let you breathe in again. Which makes breathing out again difficult.

But wouldn't you inhale it while trying to gasp? I am sure I have read that when you die of quick sand and what not, your lungs fill with sand.
