Pathfinder MetalFest III - Nov 11th & 12th

Gromen's concert reviews tend to focus on the bands' appearance almost as much as the music. I never really understood why.

I noticed this more when he's writing about bands that he doesn't really know much about and/or don't really have a career/history as a band yet. It seems like it's an efficient way for a journalist to "fill in" the review. Mind you that this is not meant to come off as a knock on Mark, as I like his writing on BWBK.

Yeah I think Mark is an absolutely awesome dude. I make sure I take a moment to thank him for being at any show my dad puts on regardless of what he says.

I figure if a dude pays for his own travel expenses to come out to a 'regional' show he has every right to say whatever he wants, good, bad, or neutral.

Every live review... think Jamie pointed it out to me first before I put any thought into it. Now didn't Joan Rivers do the same thing to people walking down the red carpet?
So tells us Widow who are you wearing tonight?
Well Joan this evening I decided on black jeans created by Levi that have fit since 8th grade. Accompanied by a vintage retro style ala. '83 Van Halen t shirt exclusive by Wal-Mart and the gracious poor children of China.
And who does your hair/
Oh the fine people at Herbal Essence they give it thsat glorious silky shine and bounce that all metal bands need.
Oh, oh here comes Johnny Auni down the Red Carpet sporting a white wife-beater design by Hanes.

this Tuesday Nov 29th we will be announcing the lineup for the Pathfinder MetalFest IV, slated for July 7th, 2012 in Marietta, GA. - One night only!!

When all is revealed I hope you all agree this could be the most dynamic Pathfinder show to date. :heh:

lol!! I know! The review makes it sound like that is a bad thing! He clearly doesn't like prog or more melodic stuff based on the comments we, VOR, and Hephystus received.

Yeah, someone didn't care much for OC from what I can tell. Good thing you & Matt have long hair! I'd hate to see what the review would be if you guys were bald, or sporting crew cuts! :heh:

I have not seen the lineup on the Pathfinder Page for the 2012 fest so I will not name who I am excited to see, but one of the bands put up the flyer. All I can say is that I will be there 100%.

Expect Hoyt's post announcing it here in a little bit. Flyer looks awesome. I really wish I could make it, but I am sure those who attend will be in for an awesome *rare* treat!

Here's my coverage from the second day of the fest. It was extremely difficult to limit myself to two photos from each band so please be sure to check out the full sets on Flickr and like my Facebook page if you haven't already.
