Paul Stanley Tour

Holy shit, I haven't seen Paul this in the zone since the Revenge Tour and that includes the reunion tour. The band is out of this world, they were outstanding on TV, but they are that much better live! I hope he get into the studio and does some recording with these guys! The drummer smokes Eric Singer And Eric Carr!!!!! The setlist is stellar, Paul is having fun, he makes nice with the fans by amusing the audience by answering hecklers. And he makes funny comments, both about KISS, himself, ect. For those that are lucky enough to catch this tour have a blast! And you may want to park your car near by and then grab something to eat and pass on Slunt. I was familiar with them having recieved their last two albums for review and they aren't much live either. They have a gorgeous singer that can play rhythm guitar, but can't sing to save her life. The bass player is all show, she can barley play, the lead guitarist is stuck in a nowhere band as is the drummer, gentlemen, leave wheile you still can!!!!! I have an acqaintance that was there shooting and writing a review of the show, I will get his link and post it for those that might be interested.

I've been making it a point to bash on Slunt where I can. Cynical, cocktease bullshit.

There has been talk about them doing a second leg...
I hope it happens, I'd love to see the show again.

I hope so. The tickets for the Sunset House of Blues sold out before Ticketmaster even sent me the notice that they were going onsale.

I'm going tonight, after having seen Blind Guardian last night (both shows at the Fillmore). Looking very forward to it. This tour/show is the only reason I can think to get even remotely close to a member of Kiss, or even a Kiss product....with the exception of Kissology. Funny that, after having traded all my Kiss stuff off years ago, I suddenly spent a few bucks on them this year again. Ah well.

This will be money well spent, Paul is having such a fucking good time it's infectious. Have a blast and full report on your thoughts in the morning.

Hey Sixx, just wanna take a minute (fresh back from the show here) to FULLY reflect every single positive comment you made on this tour/show. Seriously, it was one of the greatest rock shows I've ever seen.....metal, pure rock, or otherwise. There was certainly a nostalgia boost for me, especially since Paul's '78 solo album was one of the first 3 or 4 records I ever bought with my own money - I bought it with birthday money as wee lad in the 70s. But, above and beyond that, he was funny, humble, and yet....just plain a ROCK GOD all night long. I think it's hard to convey to those who haven't seen this tour....but it was SO FUCKING AWESOME!!!!! Probably one of the 10 best shows I've ever seen, period.

It was a thrill to hear Goodbye, Wouldn't You Like to Know Me, Tonight You Belong to Me, A Million to one, I want You, Got To Choose...etc. etc. The crowd loved every second. And Paul sounded top notch all night. He definately chose the best stuff off the new record to play too. Probably the single best thing I can say is that I had more FUN than any show I have seen in the last five years. Seriously. And as Paul would say, 'That's what rock and roll is all about...."

Completely. Killer. Show.

Glad you had a good time, I have been very critical of KISS over the last few years and this tour has sparked my interest in the band. Honestly, it's probably one of the top 5 shows that I have ever seen in my life. If he does a second leg I will be there to see him again. I heard there were a lot of hecklers in S.F. crowd, because Paul was talking too much? I actually didn't mind the chatter, it brought this KISS Konvention vibe to the show. I didn't know if any of you ever went to the KISS Konvetion gigs? It was intimate, fun and all about the music. He shot the show in Chicago for a DVD which I hope he issues shortly.

He did talk alot, but I sure didn't mind. He was very interesting, funny, down-to-earth-ish. I guess there were some hecklers, but just kind of in the line of, "Plaaaaay Struuuuutter maaaan!" It did kind of bother me, because they did this while he was talking. But, it really only happened a couple of times, and he had very snappy and hilarious comebacks.

I didn't see any of the convention gigs, but was fully aware of the first solo tour - for which I had two different bootlegs, one audio, one video. Not sure what became of those....

It was a special night for me, because he was aaaaalways my favorite in KISS, and even though I rarely put them in these days, he basically occupies the archetype of "rock singer," in my mind. Even to this day he is kind of the standard by which I judge others. Seriously. I just dig the shit out of his voice.

Awesome!

One interesting note...the crowd at Blind Guardian were all about 10 or 15 years younger than me, but the crowd at Paul Stanley were 10 or 15 years older.....funny.

Fucking drunks. I too was a little annoyed by the drunkards in the audience. When I was coming into the theater with the old lady there was this 40 something year old guy reeking of booze being turned away because he was already lit and he had yet to enter the show! Then there was a couple of other drunkards that kept running into people with their brews in hand. Seems like these motherfuckers must have had a good 8 beers each during the show! Then one of the got lost, no joke with two beers in hand, he thought "we" were his friends that he was with! He kept calling me by his friend's name, I told him I wasn't that guy! He didn't believe me. So I let it go. I thought "this is amazing, he were are at a fucking event of a lifetime and this motherfucker won't be able to remember a bit of it." He shelled out $45.00 to get in just to get drunk?! He could have done that anytime! On the way out we encountered that drunk that was turned away at the door, waiting for his friends. Pathetic.

Yeah, you know...I don't have too many pet peeves, but that's one of 'em. It's those folks who tend not to be the real fans anyway, as they are usually just the ones who shout for the one obvious, usually lame, song they have heard on the radio - be it Rock and Roll all Night, You got Another Thing Coming, Freebird, or whatever the hell band they are seeing's lamest, biggest song. Just gets under my skin a bit, that. To be frank, that's the main reason I tend to avoid shows of a purely "hard rock," fashion anymore. They are usually full of old-timers who go to one show a year......and don't know how to act, for lack of a better way of putting it. When I go to shows like Blind Guardian or Celtic Frost...well, the crowd is always kind of more tolerable and there to actually hear the music, with maybe one or two exceptions. But an Aerosmith crowd? No sir, not for me. To put it bluntly (and I'm not bagging on them specifically), those crowds are full of what I consider to be "casual music fans...." I like my fellow attendees to be dieards....there to hear the music, see their favorite band....and full of a feeling that we are "all in this together and lucky to be here, rather than full of beer.

I agree that the Paul show was basically a once in a lifetime gig, one of those special tours.....and I don't understand those folks who don't get that. To some it's just a chance to get plastered I guess.
