when i play my peavey 5150 the volume seems to increase and then back upp again, but only sometimes! Is it the tubes? What shall i do? What tubes should i replace the ones i got with?

Might be preamp tubes...but may also be some electrical fuckup in your place/neighbourhood. With what periodicity does that happen?

I own a 5150 2 , and you just have to let it sit for a few seconds and let the Tubes warm up. If your sound increases/decreases after you have been playing through the amp for like 10 minutes or more, then you might have a problem. If so just take it into your local music store.

o and if you were to replace the tubes, the pre amp tubes are 12x7s i believe and the power tubes are 6L6's
