Peavey 6505 vs. Revalver 6505 vs. Axe Fx 5150

I dig all three for different reasons.

This, but digging 6505 and Axe more than Revalver. Would be curious to hear the 6505 preamp through the same impulse, or the Axe with the 5150III impulse.

Would also be cool to hear it all in a mix, as that's where I find impulses/the Axe to fail - when the midrange becomes super static-y and the mix doesn't breath.

Like it, pls do same comparison.... but next time everything through the same IR. Would be great if the only difference would be the amp.

The axe-fx is painfully close to the real amp aha. I think the Revalver sim sounds a lot different than the other two, in a bad way imo.

revalver sounds so fucking flat and boring...

6505 is great but the axe-fx sounds kinda deeper (it's the stock IR, all stock IR's are way too boomy)
and has more balls. 6505 is a bit clearer and punchier

I'd also love to hear the AxeFx and or 6505 through the impulse here :)

Thanks for the plug, by the way. Very much so appreciated.

I think the 6505 sounds a bit too thick on its own; that would step on a lot in the mix IMO.

All sound killer, but I was very suprised that I liked the sims more than the actual amp! Probably becuse the tone on those is more grainy and squishy which I like.

wow, you can actually get a nice tone with revalver. Got the HP, loaded the keFIR in it with guitarhacks impulses. The XXX model actually sounds alot more now like the real deal compared to revalvers impulses.

I prefer the real amp. It's not a better tone, i actually prefer the cab and micing tone from the two impulses, but it has much nicer high end and those nice squishy tube lows

Are the settings on the picture of ReValver what you actually used for this test? I assume you used the ReV impulse loader, if so did you change the low/high/dist/crunch settings at all? Did you change any of the amp internals? I can't get ReV to sound like that based on what I see in the pic - not a "oh you're using different guitar/pickups" different but a "it's fucking totally different sounding" so I am curious.
