A really cool dude in my Music Theory A.P. class told me about this amazing band called Pelican. He said that they were as amazing as Dream Theater, and equally served as a bench mark of the prog world. But I've never heard of them! Has anybody heard of these guys "Pelican"?

My friend talks about Pelican all the time. I've never actually heard them, but he's been bugging me to listen to them for quite a while now.

i just saw them live a few weeks ago with Opeth. it could just be me but their sound didnt translate well live, just a muddy wall of sound

I was gonna go see them and opeth at the house of blues in hollywood, but then it got postponed and I couldn't go on the rescheduled date. 
The Flower Kings are above gay names, they're too fucking awesome to be ridiculed. It can't be done, due to the sheer awesomeness.
