Hey guys. Thought I'd show you what a fanboy I am and share a few items collected over the years which are most precious. I posted this same thread on the Nevermore forum.

Did you notice the "y" and the "g"? He handed this to me at a show in Tijuana, Mexico which was being filmed for a home video. I screamed to the stage, "KERRY, GIMME A FUCKIN' PICK MAN!". He bent down and handed that shit right to me.

And my very most precious!!!

Note the razorblade slashes which authenticates the authenticity of this authentic metal treasure. I caught this one in mid-air at the San Diego Sports Arena back in 1990something...

Here's my backdrop for these pics, in case you were wondering -

ahhhh, you got one of those... very rare, from my very first run of picks after i joined Testament... the quote underneath my signature was a tribute to The Jerky Boys, who i was into quite heavily at the time (this was 1994 remember, lol), and it read: "Yeah I got all that shit, tough guy"

i have new Disincarnate ones now.

i have a pick from dimebag that i got like 2 weeks before he died, i had a shadows fall pick fomr a few years ago, and i have a pick from rob from into eternity. also slightly related, i have a pair of martin lopez's sticks.

Cool picks man! Especially the Dime and Murphy ones. :D

I have no picks. :( I came really close at a recent arch enemy show, I was second row right in front of Michael and I sung a long with the whole thing and everything, and I was pretty sure he saw me and aimed a pick at me but the tall(er) guy behind me got it. Although this may just be delusions of grandeur. :loco:

Gotta love Frank Rizzo.

I'd sure love to have one of those new picks.

I was a big Metallica fan back in the day....I have a green Kirk Hammett pick and Jason Newsteads purple plectrum with the old Metallica logo...also had an old used Lars drumstick that sold on Ebay for $200.....

I have ones from:

Andreas Kisser - Sepultura...my first, and my proudest of. He threw a couple in my direction, as I was hanging out off to the side of the stage in the crowd...people kept knocking em out of the way and grabbing em...he grabbed my hand from the stage and handed it to me after the 3rd or 4th one...I was like 14 then

Virus - Dope...given to me for workin for em

Sketchy - Dope...found after a show workin for em

Sin - Society 1 (actually, I have about 5 or so of his...from workin shows w/ Sociey 1)

Nazareth...given to me for workin for em...don't know who thier new dork guitarist is

Joan Jett (cunt!)...found at the show after the crowd cleared

I think I might have another, but I can't remember.

I have 2 Dimebag Pantera picks and a Manowar Joey DeMaio bass pick.
Also have a drumstick from Superjoint Ritual that I caught at Ozzfest 2004.

One of my friends is like 6'6" and about 280+ pounds and has a huge drumstick collection and happens to be a drummer. Flo, 2 Pete Sandoval, Vinnie Paul, Charlie Benante and about 6 or 7 various other drummers.

I have a bass pick from Stig Pederson of D-A-D (he of the two-stringed basses). It's shaped like a cow skull. :)

Is this made to prevent the pick from ripping from the finger ? Pretty good idea really, I personnaly draw holes in mine with a drill :Spin:

That's exactly why he did that. There used to be picks manufactured with the holes in them like you describe, but I haven't seen them in years.

Gosh, my bandmates made fun of me when I "modded" my picks.
So I'm not the only one and I'm in good comany :)

I used to make marks with a hot soldering gun.
Now I use different picks and there's no need for modding anymore.

cool stuff.

i haven't dropped a pick in ages, so i guess there's no need for cutting or drilling or whatever :)
having that said, i constantly run out of picks....you'd be surprised how many guys (and gals, too!) ask for them when playing out ;)

I got picks from Jason Everman (Nirvana/Mind Funk) Sean Glass (Soil) American Headcharge, Breed 77, Scotti Hill (skid row), Joe Satriani and a couple of others but my favorite ones are from J and Sean from White Zombie one of my favorite bands ever!!!

Yeah, I have many of those (Pickboy)

But they don't make them in bass-like shape (like the Kerry King pick) which is what I'm the most comfortable with (I'm very clumsy with my fingers, lol), so I had to do it myself.

I also used Pickboy with raised grip but it hurts :)

I use to have those PickBoy picks as well. They made my fingers hurt. I hold my picks in a wierd way so I don't really need little things to add grip.

I have a small collection: Steve Vai and Joe Satriani from the G3 tour, John Petrucci from a Liquid Tension Experiment show, James Hetfield and Kirk Hammet, Mikael Akerfeldt from an Opeth show, Fredrik Thordendal from Meshuggah and various other picks from random death metal bands (Cannibal, Suffocation, Nile, and Eternal Suffering). I also have a stick from Martin Lopez, one from Mike Portnoy from Dream Theater/LTE, and a pair or Thomas Haake drumstricks as well as one Morgan Agren stick from when he filled in for Haake on a Meshuggah tour.

My girlfriend thinks it's wierd that I have this stuff, but my musician friends think it's the coolest thing since sliced bread. Heh.
