Picking up a Profire 2626 so....

I agree completely, but that's why I go for the inexpensive ones ;) (by companies such as Voxengo, Apulsoft, etc.,)

Massey plugins are cheaper than dirt, best value in the entire world of audio engineering. I haven't actually bought MHCS or McDSP Analog Channel yet, Channel Strip will be my next purchase though. For now I am totally content with my stock Digi plugs + Massey CT4, Tapehead and L2007, I really don't need anything else. CT4 is easily my favourite compressor I've ever used.

Honestly dude I could never convince myself to pay more than $150 for a plugin, ever. MHCS is like 3 or 4 plugins in one though, so paying $200 for it doesn't irk me quite as much

I've always liked ReaComp, seems totally transparent, which is good enough for me! (and I really like the range of attack times as well as detector high-pass option)

Well just that IME most plugins available in the RTAS format cost more than those that are VST or VST/AU only, but I guess the Masseys are an exception!

That's why when I get my 2626 I will try PT too.

Anyway, I wanna ask my question here instead of creating a thread :

They say on the MAudio site that they recommand a Texas Instrument 1394a Firewire port. Do you know which good one I can buy if there is any that is recommended, or do you recommend sticking to some noname brand for a firewire port ? I know nothing about firewire, I never had one, so I don't know :)

Have one since 8 months and no problem with it;)
