Pickup Opinions

[Immortal Extinction]

I got offered a good deal on a Kent Armstrong M213k pickup or a Dimarzio PAF Pro. Anyone used these? Would they be suitable for metal? I'm usually an EMG fan, but was wanting maybe try something different

Stick with the EMG's bro. Those pups aren't really for metal. The KA is more for a neck pup, reccomended for classic rock. A PAF is going to sound metallically chunky (think Korn) for what you are going to want to do.

Thats what I've been thinking after looking up the spces and reviews on the pickups. I guess I'll save up for some of the new EMG 81 X's and pick out a set of pickups from my Box O' Pickups until then.

Yeah, I'm really curious about EMG-X's - the Blackout Bridge I have didn't do much for me, but maybe the EMG 81-X will be better!
