Plate on snare. MONO or STEREO?

Do you usualy use mono or stereo plate/reverb on snare drum?
I find a stereo plate more wide and open sounding, though it may wash your mix away and cause some problems in the overall clearence of the mix.
Do you stay mono or stereo? And of course does any body know how genius Andy does??

Stereo FTW. If the snare is panned center, I can't see how the verb would push it too wide.
