Please tell me I am not the only guy

I've never seen The Notebook, but movies that have brought me closest to tears are definitely 'The Green Mile' and ... well that is all I can think of right now, but I know there have been a few.

'The Last of the Mohicans' might be up there.

Throughout the whole of "I am legend" I was wondering how many times Will Smith has saved the world already.

I think you can sum up any Will Smith film with that plot synopsis:

"Will saves the world".

I thought this scene was sad as fuck:

I'm not a dog fanatic either (I have 2 cats that don't give a shit and that's how I like it).

Jesus, yeah - that didn't make me cry, cuz as I said it takes a lot to get me to that point, but it came about as close as it could; it's the unwavering loyalty of dogs that really gets me, and the way people talk about things like being away when their dog is nearing the end, and their dog holding on to life until they come home to see them one last time, oh man :waah::waah:

AI didn't make me cry as much as overwhelmingly depressed.
sad movie

Yep

^u ruined your perfect number of 666 posts with one talkin about how u cried during the notebook....lame.

 It was either that or I was going to post "Hey!!! I've got 666 posts".
But then I would have ruined it anyway so I just went with "The Notebook made me cry".

I Am Legend probably would have got some tears out of me if i wasnt so pissed of that it somehow turned into this dramatic tear jerker, when it was portrayed as a horror type film in the previews, and then lead off like a comedy/scifi film. lol is it natural to get that pissed off at a plot line??

OMG thank you X-Dodo (dunno your name). The Notebook is the last movie who made me cry like a 5yo girl. I was tired, almost sick, coudln't sleep and so I had decided to watch a movie. I had the Notebook, started it during the night. It made me fucking cry, first time a love story movie was so interesting. You surprise yourself almost praying for a good end of the story ! The day after, I ordered the original book and read it later in the train. It's a good one but not mandatory to read.

+1 about dog loyalty. I fucking love dogs, these are simple animals but they are so fun and cute to live with. It's quite easy to communicate with them, and they are just 10 times more loyal than any fucking human being. Getting home when there's a dog to turn the door entrance into a party room is fucking priceless !

Cats are fun too but in another way. They do more things in your house, you can see a cat trying to get uppon the door or trying to escalade a wall before failing which is too funny to watch, but they're also more autonom.

For me it's a bit like a dog is a child, and a cat an adolescent !

I know if I watch Marley and me i'm gonna cry. I have to watch it, but alone !

When I was younger I remember watching The Fly with Jeff Goldblum and there was a scene where a dog got locked into the morphing chamber and it became all grotesque and freakish and if I remember right had to be put down... I bawled my eyes out for that little mut. Something so innocent and beautifully loving so carelessly destroyed. Being so young and unfamiliar with graphic effects it seemed very real which made it painfully hard to watch but my freakin heart ached seeing it suffering and I couldn't look away. I doubt the effects/makeup would be that impressive by today's standards, of course, but maybe worth a watch if you feel like having a good heart shredding moment.

DUDE, oh my god, I can't believe you mentioned that - it was actually The Fly 2, but yeah, I was watching TV awhile ago and tuned into the movie like 10 minutes before that scene, and I had to turn it off after, cuz it was just so fucking awful (AND the dog was this adorable golden retriever, just to twist the knife all the more). I wasn't so much sad though like from some movies, but rather sad and fucking angry at the filmmakers for making something so horrible and twisted.

And you left out the fact that after it became grotesque and freakish, they kept it alive for like 5 years because it was the only thing that had ever survived a teleportation (it was a teleporter ;)), and the main character as a kid was friends with the dog, and when he discovers that they've been keeping his mutated form alive, he goes to see him and the pitiful, horribly deformed dog wags his tail, and the main character kills him by putting some poison on a cloth and holding it to the dog's nose - honestly, I'd be less uncomfortable seeing a person's intestines get ripped out and fed to him (in film, obviously) than something like the scene I just described.

I also find that scene really difficult to watch, in fact the entire movie just for that scene, is the expression they put on the dog, the face i don´t know is hard, hehe.

Oh yeah...if you market or promote a movie falsely it can totally kill it.

Pearl Harbor comes to mind....

I Am Legend sucked really fucking hard
mainly because it totally destroyed the point of the book in aid of making money at the box office.
Because artistic integrity isn't cool these days.
Fuckers.
