I've always wanted this to exist, and no one has built it, so I finally decided it was time to do something about it.

I'm proud to announce my latest project, PluginUpdate. This app does exactly what it sounds like - it will help you keep all of your plugins up to date, and it will be FREE. It also supports on and offline machines (provided you have an online machine and a USB stick available.)

Public beta will be launching in early 2013. Go to PluginUpdate.com and sign up for the email list to be notified when the download is available.

How will it work? Wouldn't it need all my log-in data of all the companies sites? Will you steal all of the access when entered? :D
Sounds like a good idea though.

I'm keeping details to a minimum right now, as this is an ongoing development and things are subject to change. However, what I can say is that the app will be smart, secure, and that no personal data will be stored by us.

Interesting.

Will it store all the plugins you have as a list on your "profile?" I could see this being EXTREMELY useful to people who switch to new computers and don't have their plugins backed up (or their plugin drive crashes, etc.). Rather than having to keep a separate list of things you need to copy onto a new computer/hard drive, you could have your list stored on your profile for this program, and it could fetch install/dll files for all the plugins that aren't currently installed (or at least update the list by changing the color of the plugin name or something of a similar fashion from a grayed out value to a solid color, as you install them manually).

Just an idea ;)

Yes, it will have to do that, actually. You'll be able to create as many machine profiles as you need, compare them, etc. More soon...

We're hard at work on the most practical utility for audio engineers ever. In the mean time, here's a quick preview of the app UI during a plugin scan:

Multiple plugin lists can be managed, and you can transfer plugin lists between machines, ensuring session portability between mobile and studio rigs, etc. More soon!
