First of all thank you to this community. Great people in this forum.

I know I don't own pro hardware, but I want to improve the sound I'm getting.

I need to know how to get a louder and better sound using my POD 2.0 as a mic pre.
I'm using the tube pre setting of course. But I get low level sound. I know all the things about impedance and that POD is not a mic pre. Just want to get the best I can. Comp + Gclip + Gclip + Elephant ?

Thank you.:headbang:

PD: I've got the ticket to METALLICA in January at ARGENTINA ! :headbang:

For a good tone, you shouldn't need to use Elephant in your guitar effects chain. Furthermore, you aren't required to use a compressor and two instances of a clip shaper plugin. Sounds like your signal is weak as hell.

Ok. And the best way to use POD as MIC Pre for vocal ?

Fx to get a better tone ?

Than You.:erk:

I've never used a POD, but do you have the gain turned up in that thing? Like are there physical controls for it?

Someone who knows how to use a POD should help you from here...

The typical simple guitar FX chain would be a noise gate - an amp sim - cab impulse - corrective EQ's, high- and lowpasses, etc...

I used a POD XT to record vocals through back when I first started messing around with recording. Never had any problems with getting a decent level to be honest.

Make sure the gain and output level aren't set too low, but don't let anything clip.

Make sure that your mic cable is ok obviously.

Really that should be enough to get a decent level. You might think the vocals are low because they have a large dynamic range, so can easily go from very loud to very quiet depending on the part you're singing. Some compression can help you out here.
